The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a one-year mandatory program for Nigerian graduates who are below 30 years of age. The aim of the program is to foster national unity, integration and development among the youths. The program consists of three phases: orientation course, primary assignment and passing out parade.
The orientation course is the first phase of the NYSC program. It is a three-week training camp where corps members are introduced to the NYSC scheme, learn about their host state, undergo physical and mental drills, and participate in various social and cultural activities. The orientation course is also where corps members are posted to their places of primary assignment (PPA).
The NYSC management has announced that the 2024 Batch A orientation course will commence on Tuesday, 16th February 2024 and end on Friday, 19th February 2024.
This means that prospective corps members who have completed their online registration and have been mobilized for service will report to their respective orientation camps on these dates.
The online registration for the NYSC 2024 Batch A will start on Monday, 1st February 2024 and end on Sunday, 14th February 2024.
Prospective corps members are advised to visit the NYSC portal (www.nysc.gov.ng) to register and print their call-up letters. They are also required to pay a sum of N3,000 for the call-up letter or opt for the free option of printing it online.
