National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Training
The NDLEA is a federal agency that is responsible for enforcing the laws against illicit drug production, trafficking and consumption in Nigeria. The agency was established in 1989 by Decree No. 48 of 1989.
The NDLEA recruits qualified Nigerians who are willing to serve as officers and men of the agency. The NDLEA training is a rigorous and intensive process that aims to equip the recruits with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
NDLEA Training Date 2024
The NDLEA has not yet announced the official date for the training of the successful candidates for the 2024 recruitment. However, based on previous years, we can expect that the training will commence sometime in the second quarter of 2024, after the completion of the screening and documentation processes.
The training will last for about six months, during which the recruits will undergo physical, mental and moral training at various NDLEA training centers across the country.
NDLEA Training Centers 2024
The NDLEA has several training centers where the recruits will be trained according to their ranks and roles. Some of these centers are:
- NDLEA Academy Jos: This is the main training center for the NDLEA, where all the recruits will undergo basic training and orientation. The academy is located in Jos, Plateau State.
- NDLEA Command and Staff College Jos: This is where the senior officers of the NDLEA will receive advanced training and education on drug law enforcement and administration. The college is also located in Jos, Plateau State.
- NDLEA Regional Academy Oshodi: This is where the junior officers of the NDLEA will receive specialized training on drug interdiction, intelligence, investigation and prosecution. The academy is located in Oshodi, Lagos State.
- NDLEA Specialized Training School Keffi: This is where the operatives of the NDLEA will receive specialized training on counter-narcotics operations, such as undercover, surveillance, raid, arrest and search. The school is located in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
Requirements for NDLEA Screening Exam
Before you can proceed to the NDLEA training, you must first pass the screening exam that will test your aptitude, knowledge and personality.
The screening exam will consist of a computer-based test (CBT), a physical fitness test and an oral interview. To qualify for the screening exam, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be a Nigerian citizen by birth or descent.
- You must be between 18 and 30 years of age (35 years for medical doctors).
- You must have a minimum of five credits in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB or its equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.
- You must have a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- You must have a valid means of identification, such as a national identity card, driver’s license or international passport.
- You must be free from any criminal conviction or indictment.
- You must be free from any physical or mental disability that may impair your performance.
- You must be free from any drug addiction or abuse.
