Survival Fund is a federal government initiative to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Federal Government Survival Fund 2024
The programme aims to provide financial assistance, business registration, and payroll support to eligible MSMEs across the country. The programme has two main components: the MSME Survival Fund and the Guaranteed Offtake Scheme.
The MSME Survival Fund has four categories:
- Payroll Support: This provides 30,000 to 50,000 naira monthly salary for three months to employees of MSMEs that have not been able to pay their staff due to the pandemic.
- Formalisation Support: This provides free business registration for 250,000 new businesses that are not yet registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
- Artisan/Transport Support: This provides 30,000 naira one-time grant to 333,000 artisans and transport business operators who have been affected by the pandemic.
- General Grant: This provides 50,000 naira one-time grant to 100,000 MSMEs that need funds to boost their businesses.
The Guaranteed Offtake Scheme is designed to stimulate direct local production by enabling 100,000 MSMEs to produce items that are typically procured by the government. The scheme will provide funds for the procurement of these items from the MSMEs.
How to apply for Survival Fund?
To apply for Survival Fund, you need to visit the official website of the programme at www.survivalfund.gov.ng or www.survivalfundapplication.com. You need to register your personal details and activate your account with a code that will be sent to your phone number and email address. Then you need to register your organisation details and choose the category of support that you want to apply for. You will also need to provide some documents such as CAC certificate, SMEDAN number, tax ID, and bank account details.
You can only apply for one category of support per organisation. The application is free and open to all eligible MSMEs in Nigeria. The application portal is open from September 21, 2020 till October 15, 2020 for the first phase of the programme. The second phase will be announced later.
