Are you one of the Akwa Ibom State indigenes who applied for the Akwa Ibom State Scholarship last year? If yes, then you will be happy to know that the Akwa Ibom State Scholarship shortlisted names have been published.
The Akwa Ibom State Scholarship is a scheme initiated by the State Executive council, on 27th June, 2024, to support 500 indigent students of Akwa Ibom origin studying in public universities in Nigeria with Scholarships.
The scholarship application process was competitive and transparent. Out of the 1,665 applicants who applied on the state website, only 1,192 applicants were shortlisted for aptitude test on 27th December, 2024 at UNIUYO ICT Centre. The aptitude test was based on general knowledge, current affairs and logical reasoning.

The final selection was done based on the performance of the applicants in the aptitude test. Only the top 500 applicants who scored the highest marks were selected. You can find their names below in the Akwa Ibom State Scholarship shortlisted names.
Note: There is a lot of confusion and misinformation about the shortlisting process and the names of the successful candidates. Some people have been spreading false news and rumors that the names have been released and that they can help you secure a slot for a fee.
This is a scam and you should not fall for it. The Akwa Ibom State Government has not yet released the names of the shortlisted candidates for the 2024/2025 bursary program. You should ignore any form of advert or message that claims otherwise.
The official way to check your status is to visit the Akwa Ibom State Government website at www.akwaibomstate.gov.ng and follow the instructions there.

The scholarship distribution was done according to the following criteria:
- Science & Technology: 70%
- Other Courses: 30%
- Science Courses – 372
Arts – 128
Scholarship Worth:
- The scholarship worth is N200,000 per beneficiary.
