  • You must be a Nigerian citizen by birth or descent.
  • You must possess a minimum of Five Credits in no more than two sittings in WASSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB and must include English and Maths.
  • You must have a National Identity Number (NIN).
  • You must be between the ages of 18 and 25.
  • You must not be less than 1.64 metres for females and 1.67 metres for male candidates respectively.
  • You must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment.
  • You must not be physically disabled.
  • You must be free from any pecuniary embarrassment.
  • You must not have been involved in any criminal activities in the past.
  • You must be physically, mentally, and medically fit.
  • You must not have any of the following abnormalities: Bowlegs, Body scars, Speech impediment, Bent knees, Knock knees, Defective eyesight or squint eyes, Deformed hand, Protruding Navel, Gross malformation of teeth, Amputation of any part of the body, Tattoos, flat feet.
  • You must not have less than 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement (for men only).
  • Possession of a valid National Driver’s License will be an added advantage.

NPF Recruitment 2024/2025 Available Positions

The NPF recruitment 2024/2025 has various positions for both graduates and non-graduates. The positions are categorized into three types, namely:

  • Constables: This is for non-graduates with a minimum of a West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE), a National Examination Council (NECO), or a General Certificate of Education (GCE) with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics. The constables are the lowest rank in the NPF and are responsible for general police duties, such as patrol, traffic control, investigation, and arrest. The constables are also divided into two categories, namely:
    • General Duty: This is for candidates who have the basic educational qualification and are willing to perform any police duty assigned to them.
    • Specialists: This is for candidates who have additional qualifications or skills in specific fields, such as drivers, mechanics, electricians, computer operators, nurses, technicians, etc.
  • Cadet Inspectors: This is for graduates with a minimum of a National Diploma (ND), a National Certificate of Education (NCE), or an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from a recognized institution. The cadet inspectors are the junior officers in the NPF and are responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the constables, as well as performing other police functions, such as investigation, prosecution, and intelligence. The cadet inspectors are also divided into two categories, namely:
    • General Duty: This is for candidates who have the basic educational qualification and are willing to perform any police duty assigned to them.
    • Specialists: This is for candidates who have additional qualifications or skills in specific fields, such as drivers, mechanics, electricians, computer operators, nurses, technicians, etc.
  • Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP): This is for graduates with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution. The cadet ASPs are the senior officers in the NPF and are responsible for planning and implementing police policies and strategies, as well as overseeing and directing the operations of the lower ranks. The cadet ASPs are also divided into two categories, namely:
    • General Duty: This is for candidates who have the basic educational qualification and are willing to perform any police duty assigned to them.
    • Specialists: This is for candidates who have additional qualifications or skills in specific fields, such as law, medicine, engineering, accounting, etc.
